TX Logistik increases number of round trips to North Italy

TX Logistik AG is increasing its train frequency via the Brenner axis to northern Italy. From May 10, the rail logistics company, which is part of the Mercitalia Group, will operate five round trips per week on the route between Leipzig and Verona.

There are currently four. In June, the Padborg (Denmark) – Verona connection will also be increased by a seventh round trip per week. The reason for the expansions is the increased demand for rail transport capacity on the Brenner axis.

On the route between Leipzig and Verona, Hall in Tyrol, where the train makes a stopover, will also be served five times a week in each direction. TX Logistik will be responsible not only for traction but also for offering the transport capacities on its own. The train can take up to 32 loading units - including bulk and tank containers as well as swap bodies and semi-trailers. Vehicle parts, recyclable materials, recycling and chemical products as well as consumer goods are transported on the route. In the future, rail freight traffic between Leipzig and Verona will be further expanded.

In March, the train frequency on the connection between Lübeck and Verona was already increased from six to seven round trips per week. Including the announced extensions, TX Logistik then operates 41 round trips or 82 trains per week on the north-south axis via the Brenner, which makes it one of the leading providers.

In the intermodal network, Verona is one of the most important hubs for TX Logistik. Currently, the rail logistics company regularly connects a total of five locations in Germany and Padborg in Denmark with the northern Italian economic region. The start and destination in Italy are the terminals Quadrante Europa and Sommacampagna-Sona, located slightly to the west of Verona.
