Turkish Technic Joins IATA’s MRO SmartHub Platform

Turkish Technic Joins IATA’s MRO SmartHub Platform
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that Turkish Technic, a leading provider of comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for commercial aircraft and business jets, will join IATA’s MRO SmartHub platform.

This confirms MRO SmartHub’s status as a market leading industry platform, which was developed by IATA and its technology partner Opremic.

IATA’s MRO SmartHub is a neutral web-based platform enabling airlines, MRO providers, OEMs, and appraisers to gain greater transparency into the surplus aftermarket, plus real-time access to fair market values (FMV) for aircraft parts. Airlines and MRO service providers are forecast to be able to reduce their material costs through the use of the platform by some 10-15%.

Turkish Technic CFO, Zekeriya Demir, Ph.D. said: “As Turkish Technic, we are always developing and integrating tools and systems that enable us to best serve our customers with comprehensive, cost-effective, and high-quality technical services and solutions. We are happy to be a part of IATA’s MRO SmartHub platform, which will create an alternative sales channel, contribute to our operations and help us increase our competitive edge even further.”

IATA’s Senior Vice President for Commercial Products and Services, Frederic Leger, said: “We are delighted to have Turkish Technic join IATA's MRO SmartHub. Attracting a major player in the global MRO business shows the value of our MRO SmartHub product. We look forward to working with Turkish Technic and supporting them in maximizing the benefits of this tool.”

With steadily growing aircraft fleets, the MRO aftermarket material spend in 2020 was around $26 billion, representing an increasing component of airlines’ operating costs. MRO SmartHub provides airlines and MRO facilities, like Turkish Technic, the ability to manage their inventory and aftermarket spare part costs.
